Avery Wise, an 11th grader at Pittsburgh Westinghouse and a Wilkinsburg resident, had the honor to serve as a panelist at Yale University on Friday, October 26.

Avery was accompanied by his mother. Also joining him was Mr. Sean Means, a former University of Pittsburgh Heinz Fellow turned Social Studies teacher and Ms. Minika Jenkins, Chief Academic Officer.  He served as a panelist speaking about the Founding Fathers and early pieces of U.S. legislation analyzed through a social justice lens.

This was not only an honor for Avery, but for Westinghouse and our whole community. We congratulate Avery for his achievement.
