With special guests and presents from Toys for Tots, the fifth through eighth graders participating in Wilkinsburg Middle School’s after-school program and The CASTLE (Clairton’s After-School Teaching & Learning Experience), had plenty of fun at their holiday events in December.
On hand to help celebrate at Wilkinsburg were state Rep. Ed Gainey (D-Lincoln Lemington) and his Chief of Staff, Melvin Pollard; Board President Ed Donovan; Board Vice President Richard Bradford and Board member Michael Johnson; Wilkinsburg’s cheerleading squad and several Consortium staffers, including Executive Director Linda Croushore; Senior Director of Leadership & Operations Tricia Gennari and Communications Director Pamela Gaynor.
At The CASTLE, The Consortium’s Director of Student & Partnership Development Mary Dodaro was on hand, along with Board member Bud Geissler and illustrator Joe Glemba, both of whom read to visiting primary school students from Geissler’s book, The Fairy Clause.
The Consortium assists Wilkinsburg in offering its after-school program and oversees The CASTLE in partnership with Clairton City School District.
