| Wilkinsburg High School honored six prominent alumni, including Wilkinsburg Mayor John Thompson, during its first ever "Wall of Fame" Induction Ceremony on January 11, 2010.
Along with Mayor Thompson, inductees included Valerie McDonald Roberts, Manager of Allegheny County's Department of Real Estate, retired Judges Justin M. Johnson and Livingstone M. Johnson, former Wilkinsburg Tax Collector and District Justice, James Richard, and Carnegie Mellon music professor Thomas Douglas. WPXI-TV weekend news anchor Danielle Nottingham emceed the event. "The purpose of our Wall of Fame is to honor our past graduates, whose numerous and varied successes are worthy of emulation by our younger generations," said superintendent Archie D. Perrin, Jr. "We are confident that our Wall of Fame will serve as a daily source of inspiration to current and future Wilkinsburg students."
The "Wall of Fame" is a project that was undertaken by Wilkinsburg High School Student Council members, who introduced the inductees during the ceremony.
