Organizers hope to encourage residents and visitors to acknowledge and celebrate the historical contributions Wilkinsburg has made to Western Pennsylvania and the City of Pittsburgh.
"Our area is rich in history and taking positive strides to promote family values, education, and the common good," said Superintendent, Archie D. Perrin, Jr. "We hope to share the story of Wilkinsburg through our parade and to give our residents a reason to celebrate and take pride; along with providing our visitors with a historical overview of how Wilkinsburg came to be," he added.
The Grand Marshall shall of the parade is Jim Richard.
