| Turner Elementary School students received a special surprise on the first day of school, when Steelers Charlie Batch, Ryan Clark, Verron Hayes and Cedrick Wilson passed out backpacks filled with school supplies generously donated by the Covenant Church of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Youth Partnership, LSI Corportaion, Geno Levi Spirit of Style Salon, and Costco, in partnership with Communities in Schools. Thank you also to the Best of the Batch Foundation. Every kindergarten through sixth grade student in the district received a backpack.
