As a part of their tree study, Pre-K took a hike through the woods of Frick Park. These young scientists used their five senses to observe trees, plants and wildlife. Vocabulary words such as “deciduous” and “evergreen” came to life as students compared and contrasted trees. Discussions about seasons and the changes that occur from summer to fall were plentiful. Students had the opportunity to collect items discovered during the hike and will make a collage in the classroom to reflect on their experience.
