 Current School Property Tax Collection

• School property taxes for the current year are billed in early July. Payment can be made at a 2% discount by August 31 or face value by October 31. School taxes may also be paid in three equal installments due on September 30, November 30 and January 31.

• The current millage for 2005 school taxes is 35.0.

• Current taxes are collected by the Borough tax collector, however, for the 2007 tax year, the Borough has appointed Berkheimer to collect current year real estate taxes for both the borough and the school district. Please contact Berkheimer for all current tax questions such as addresses changes, current tax bills, payments, and certifications.  Berkheimer can be reached at:

Delinquent School Property Tax Collection
•    After the deadline for payment of taxes at the face value, a 10% penalty is added to the balance owed.  This penalty is also added to installment payments not paid by January 15.  
•    Delinquent taxes for 1998-2005 are collected by Portnoff Law Associates.  Their contact information is below:

•    Information about delinquent taxes prior to 1998 can be obtained by contacting the district at 412-871-2105. 
•    The district will provide a certification of school taxes for a fee of $25.00.  Please send such requests with payment to:

Current & Delinquent EIT and EMS Tax Collection
•    Currently, school district Earned Income Tax (EIT) is .5% The school district’s portion of the Emergency Medical Services Tax (EMS) is $5.00.
