Last Wednesday, the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Division welcomed Wilkinsburg 9th and 10th grade students and teachers at Pittsburgh Westinghouse Academy to tour their CTE programs.

During the tour, students were able to ask questions, interact with Pittsburgh Westinghouse teachers and students and observe hands-on activities that are part of each program’s curricula. Wilkinsburg students received information on all of the CTE programs available in the East Region, a CTE application and a small gift.

A follow up CTE postcard will be mailed home to students next week.

Each CTE program is three years long and starts in the 10th grade. However, next year’s Wilkinsburg 11th graders will still be eligible to apply for a number of different programs: Business of Sports Academy, Carpentry, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Health Careers, Emergency Response Technology, R-HVAC, Engineering and Entertainment Technology.
