Registration is now open for the 2025 Project Pipeline Summer Architecture Camp, hosted by the Pittsburgh Chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA PGH). This annual summer workshop is designed to introduce minority youth to the fields of architecture, engineering, and construction through hands-on activities and mentorship from experienced professionals.
The camp will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily, July 31 through August 3, at Chatham University and Carnegie Mellon University. The cost is $20 per student, which includes lunch and a t-shirt for each participant. Discounts are available for returning participants and those in need of financial assistance.
During the four-day camp, students will engage in sketching, model making, and team-based projects that explore sustainability and community design. This year's project site is located in Mellon Park, just down Penn Avenue from Wilkinsburg, making it a meaningful opportunity for students to think critically and creatively about local challenges and ideas within their own community.
Project Pipeline aims to empower youth to engage with the built environment with curiosity, confidence, and creativity. The camp welcomes all students in grade 6-12 who are interested in design, architecture, or making a difference in their neighborhoods.
