Wilkinsburg School District Seeks Candidate for Open School Board Seat

The Wilkinsburg School District is seeking a dedicated, community-focused individual to fill a vacant two-year seat on the School Board. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of our district and ensure all students receive a high-quality education.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be of good moral character
  • Must have resided in Wilkinsburg for at least one year
  • Commitment to public education and student well-being
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with fellow board members on district policies and initiatives
  • Oversee the district’s budget and ensure fiscal responsibility
  • Support the superintendent and administration in student achievement and staff development
  • Engage with parents, educators, and the community to understand and address needs
  • Advocate for the district at local, state, and federal levels

Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest no later than Friday, December 12, 2025, to Bethann Eyth, Board Secretary, at 718 Wallace Avenue, Wilkinsburg, PA 15221, or email [email protected]

Candidates will be required to attend the public meeting on Tuesday, December 16, at 7 p.m. at 718 Wallace Avenue to participate in an interview with the Board. The School Board will appoint the selected candidate during this meeting.
