Wilkinsburg Public Library January Schedule

Here’s a look at January’s upcoming events:

  • Winter Wonderland Scavenger Hunt – All day, all month
    • Can you find all the missing items? Try our scavenger hunt for the chance to win a prize!
  • Tutoring with Ms. Steph – Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
    • One-on-one sessions for Reading/Writing, Social Studies, Science, and Math. Walk-ins are welcome, but call 412-244-2944 to reserve a 30-minute slot.
  • Pizza Reading Challenge – Ongoing through the last day of school
    • Students in grades K–6 who read 10 books of their choice will earn a free personal pan pizza from Salvatore’s Pizza House. Pick up a tracker at the library, record your books, and return it to receive your voucher. Students can earn up to two pizzas per school year.
  • Creativity Tuesdays – Every Tuesday in January, 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
    • Join us for a different craft each week:
      • January 6: Kinetic Sand Play Day
      • January 13: Pipe Cleaner Bracelets
      • January 20: DIY Journal
      • January 27: Guess the Jelly Bean
  • Teen Talk Thursdays – Thursday, January 15, 3:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
    • Teens ages 13–18 are invited for one-on-one or group discussions with a librarian. This month’s theme is finances and budgeting, featuring a DIY mason jar piggy bank.
  • Universal Yummies – Thursday, January 15, 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
    • Take a trip to another country by tasting a variety of snacks from abroad.
  • Children’s Friday Film – Friday, January 23, 4:00 p.m.
    • Enjoy a free movie and popcorn! This month features a kids’ movie choice.
  • Parent Self-Help Book Club – Saturday, January 24, 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
    • All caretakers and guardians are welcome! Hosted by Sarah Morgan, this month’s book is Having it All: What Data Tells Us About Women’s Lives and Getting the Most of Yours.
