Wilkinsburg Public Library April Schedule

Here’s a look at April’s upcoming events:

  • Spring Scavenger Hunt – All month, all day
    • Can you find all the missing items? Complete the scavenger hunt to win a prize!
  • Creativity Tuesdays – Every Tuesday, 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
    • Fun, interactive, and creative activities each week:
      • April 7: Bird Feeder
      • April 14: Sun Catcher
      • April 21: Tissue Paper Butterfly
      • April 28: DIY Stickers
  • Mini Easter Party – Thursday, April 1, 3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
    • Join us at the library to celebrate the Easter holiday! Enjoy carnival games, crafts, an egg hunt, and prizes.
  • Children’s Friday Film – Friday, April 10, 4:00 p.m.
    • Join the library for a special showing of  "The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants," while enjoying popcorn!
  • Mighty Engineers – Monday, April 13, 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
    • Theme: Egg Zipline
      • A once-a-month engineering workshop where participants complete a fun building challenge. Suggested for ages 6 and up.
  • Teen Talk Thursdays – Thursday, April 16, 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
    • Topic: Volunteering & Getting Involved
    • Craft: Friendship Bracelets
      • Teens ages 13–18 are invited for discussions and hands-on activities about the next steps in their journey to adulthood. A new topic and craft are featured every month on the third Thursday. Attend four sessions during the school year for a chance to win a prize!
  • National Library Week – April 20–25, all day
    • Celebrate National Library Week by creating and decorating your very own bookmark!
  • Universal Yummies – Thursday, April 23, 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
    • Venture to another country by tasting a variety of snacks from around the world. Available while supplies last.
  • Ceramic Painting – Wednesday, April 29, 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
    • Painting ceramic pieces is back! Paint a piece to take home and display your creativity.
  • Read On Challenge – Ongoing through May 31
    • Students in grades K–6 who read 10 books of their choice will earn a FREE personal pan pizza from Salvatore’s Pizza House. Pick up a reading tracker at the library, record your books, and return it to receive your voucher. Students may earn up to two pizzas per school year. Completed vouchers must be returned by May 31.

  • Wednesday – Friday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
