Guidance
At Wilkinsburg School District, our guidance counselors provide essential support to students, families, and staff, fostering academic, social, and emotional growth across all grade levels. They work closely with teachers, administrators, and community agencies to ensure students have access to the resources and guidance they need to succeed, both in school and beyond. Counselors also support families by providing information, connecting them to local services, and collaborating with outside agencies to meet the needs of students and their households.
Turner Intermediate – Jordan Manos provides guidance and support to help students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. She assists students in building positive character through Second Step Lessons for grades 3–6 and collaborates closely with teachers, staff, and community agencies, including foster care programs, CYF, and wrap-around services, to ensure every student’s success. Jordan connects with parents to provide guidance, resources, and support for students and families, while also facilitating group and individual counseling sessions to meet personal, social, or emotional needs across Tier I, II, and III interventions. Additionally, she provides Career Readiness lessons to help students link academic achievement with workforce skills and manages the transfer of student files as needed. Jordan also participates in home visits and other collaborations to support the well-being of students and their families.
Kelly Primary – Cally Dixon serves as a key support for students, families, and classroom instructors. She provides individual counseling and small group sessions, implements conflict resolution strategies, and coordinates with local and government agencies, partnering school districts, and legal entities to ensure necessary records and services are provided. Cally also conducts home visits when appropriate and implements a guidance curriculum that fosters social and emotional learning while promoting career readiness awareness. She prioritizes building strong relationships with students and their families, offering encouragement, resources, and guidance tailored to individual needs. Positivity and productivity are reinforced in collaboration with the principal, support staff, and classroom instructors.
