Pittsburgh Public Schools Partnership

In 2016, Wilkinsburg School District students in grades 7–12 began attending Pittsburgh Westinghouse Academy for middle and high school through a partnership with Pittsburgh Public Schools (PPS).
 
Pittsburgh Westinghouse Academy serves students from Wilkinsburg, Homewood, Point Breeze, East Liberty, and Highland Park and is fully committed to advancing student success. The school works closely with partners and community organizations to provide relevant, comprehensive academic and career opportunities in a safe, secure, and state-of-the-art learning environment.
 
The academy has received significant funding and continues to expand innovative programming designed to prepare students for college, careers, and life beyond high school.
 
Pittsburgh Westinghouse Academy collaborates with more than 45 colleges, universities, community organizations, agencies, churches, and hospitals. Through these partnerships, students have access to:
  • Mentoring and tutoring
  • Community service opportunities
  • Workforce development experiences
  • College preparatory courses
  • Industry certifications and licensures
