Student Dress Code
The Wilkinsburg School District believes that a clean-cut and professional image reduces distractions and promotes learning. Therefore, school uniforms are expected to be worn every day!
OUTLINED BELOW IS THE PRESCRIBED SCHOOL UNIFORM FOR STUDENTS IN GRADES K – 6.
School Uniform guidelines have been adopted by the Wilkinsburg School District.
Specifically, the following uniform expectations for students Grade K- 6 must be met:
- Footwear – athletic shoes, laced shoes, boots or other closed toe shoes. Flip flops and steel-toes shoes/boots are NOT permitted.
- Jumpers/skirts must be at least one inch above the knee. MUST be solid khaki or blue
- Shirts – Polo-style and button-down COLLARED shirts are permitted in blue, red or white
- Shirt length must allow for the raising of a student’s arms over one’s head with no bare skin visible around the midriff (back or front).
- No tank tops, shirts with spaghetti straps, muscle shirts, or halter tops are permitted.
- Pants – must be solid blue or khaki and cannot have cuffs or hang below the shoe heel
- Pants must be worn so that no skin or underclothes are exposed.
- Belts are recommended but not required
