Westinghouse High School

Through a partnership with the Pittsburgh Public School District, Wilkinsburg students in grades 7-12 will attend Pittsburgh Westinghouse Academy for middle and high school.

Pittsburgh Westinghouse Academy, serving Wilkinsburg, Homewood, Point Breeze, East Liberty, and Highland Park, is fully committed to the advancement of the students academically, working with partners and community organizations to provide relevant and comprehensive opportunities for its students. It is a safe, secure, state-of-the-art school. It has received significant funding and has launched some exciting new programs – which it is continuing to expand upon.

Pittsburgh Westinghouse Academy currently collaborates with over 45 colleges, universities, community organizations, agencies, churches, and hospitals – and through these partnerships provides mentoring, community services, workforce development opportunities, tutoring, college preparatory classes, and certification/licensures.

Facilities:

Westinghouse Academy, located at 1101 North Murtland Street, is a five-story building with a total area of 307,252 square feet. Some of the building's amenities include:

8 Science Labs
18 Computer Lab Classrooms
6 Dedicated Computer Labs
7 CTE Labs
3 Music Labs

Advanced Placement Courses:

Pittsburgh Westinghouse Academy also offers several Advanced Placement courses, including courses in Biology, English 3, and English 4.

Career and Technical Education (CTE) Programs Include:

Business Administration, Sports & Entertainment (BASE)
Carpentry
Cosmetology
Culinary Arts
Emergency Response Technology (ERT)
Health Careers

All CTE programs are fully accredited with Pennsylvania State and licensure/certification. Students in these programs receive industry-recognized training, professional development, internships, community service, field placements, and job placement opportunities.

Pittsburgh Westinghouse Academy offers a variety of additional educational services as well, including learning support, speech and language, itinerant hearing and vision, life skills support, emotional support, occupational therapy, and physical therapy.

Westinghouse Sports Programs:

Pittsburgh Westinghouse Academy offers a variety of athletic programs including our football team. It is an award-winning program where many Wilkinsburg students have participated for years.
