Enrollment

We're happy you're here! To help ensure a smooth registration process, please have the following documents ready when enrolling your child. Providing all required documentation at the time of registration helps us process your child's enrollment as quickly as possible. 

Required Documents

Please be ready to provide the following:

  • Child's birth certificate
  • Current immunization records
  • Parent/Guardian photo ID
  • Two current proofs of residency (two current utility bills)

Additional Registration Requirements

Pre-K Counts Applicants

Families applying for the PA Pre-K Counts program must also provide proof of household income. Acceptable documentation includes:

  • W-2 form
  • Three recent pay stubs
  • TANF documentation

Children must be 3 years old by September 1 of the school year in which they enroll and must be potty-trained. 

Transfer Students

If your student is coming to Wilkinsburg from another school or district, please be sure to also include their most recent report card or official transcript from their previous school. 

Act 26 Form (Grades K-6)

Pennsylvania's Safe Schools Act (Act 26) requires parents/guardians of all students entering the district from another school in grades K-6 to complete an Act 26 form prior to enrollment.

Students Receiving Special Education or Gifted Services

If your child currently receives special education or gifted services, please provide a copy of their most recent Individualized Education Program (IEP) or Gifted Individualized Education Plan (GIEP). 

Students Experiencing Homelessness

Families experiencing homelessness may qualify for educational services and protections under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act. McKinney-Vento forms are available during registration, and district staff is available to assist families throughout the enrollment process.
