Food Service

Wilkinsburg School District understands the important role proper nutrition plays in a student’s ability to learn, grow, and succeed in school. The district works with The Nutrition Group to provide healthy, balanced meals that meet federal and state nutrition guidelines through the National School Breakfast Program (NSBP) and National School Lunch Program (NSLP).

The Nutrition Group transforms school breakfast and lunch into nutritious, engaging programs that students and staff enjoy. School meals are healthy, diverse, and appealing, with a focus on helping students make positive choices about nutrition and providing the fuel they need to perform at their best.

Through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), all students receive free breakfast and lunch each school day. The Food Service Department oversees meal planning, food preparation, and daily cafeteria operations while promoting healthy eating habits and supporting students with qualifying dietary needs.

Meal Accounts

Families can create a meal account to manage student meal purchases and access meal-related information.

Although all students at Wilkinsburg School District receive free breakfast and lunch during the school year, students who wish to purchase additional items, such as an extra entrée, snack, or milk, must pay à la carte prices.
