Special Dietary Needs

Wilkinsburg School District is committed to supporting students with qualifying dietary needs and ensuring all students have access to safe and nutritious meals at school.

Schools participating in federal school meal programs, including the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), National School Breakfast Program (NSBP), Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program, Special Milk Program, and Afterschool Snack Program, are required to make reasonable accommodations for children who are unable to eat school meals because of a disability that restricts their diet.

Families requesting meal accommodations for a student with a disability should provide the required medical documentation and work with the Food Service Department and school staff to develop an appropriate plan.

The Medical Plan of Care for School Food Service form should be completed when a student requires dietary accommodations due to a medical condition.
