Metro Community Health Center
The Wilkinsburg School District partners with Metro Community Health Center (MCHC), a nonprofit organization providing healthcare services to people of all ages and backgrounds. Through this partnership, MCHC brings convenient healthcare services directly to our schools for students, families, and staff.
Providing healthcare in our schools helps connect student health and academic success by making important medical and preventive services more accessible to our school community. These services support students' health and well-being while removing barriers that can contribute to missed school days.

Mobile Health Clinic
MCHC's mobile clinic, Heals on Wheels (HOWie), rotates between Kelly Primary and Turner Intermediate throughout the school year. The 38-foot mobile clinic is equipped with two private exam rooms, a waiting area, a restroom, and a wheelchair lift.
The mobile clinic visits each school from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. several times throughout the school year. Visit the district calendar for upcoming mobile clinic dates.
MCHC's mobile clinic provides a variety of healthcare services, including:
- Comprehensive pediatric care and physical exams
- Sports physicals
- Care for injuries, allergies, and sudden illness
- Urgent care visits
- Prescription and medication management
- Immunizations
- State-mandated health screenings
- Mental health support
Parent/Guardian Participation
For Kelly Primary students visiting the mobile clinic, a parent or guardian must accompany their student to the appointment.
For Turner Intermediate students visiting the mobile clinic, it is strongly encouraged that a parent or guardian also attends the appointment. However, if a parent or guardian is unable to attend in person, video conferencing is available.
How to Register
Families must complete a MCHC Patient Registration Packet before receiving services. You can complete and submit the registration forms online using the Online Patient Registration Webform. While the registration packet only needs to be completed once, a new consent form must be completed before each appointment.
If you have questions about MCHC or the services available through the mobile clinic, please contact Patrick Buehler, MCHC Project Manager, at pbuehler@metrohealth.org.
