School Safety and Security
At Wilkinsburg School District, the safety and well-being of our students is our top priority. A secure learning environment is essential for student success and provides peace of mind for the families and communities we serve.
Our approach to safety and security includes both preventative and responsive strategies. Each school building is supported by dedicated security officers who help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Safety practices and building-level support are overseen by the Coordinator of Safety, Security, and Federal Programs. For building-specific safety and security information, please contact the school principal.
We regularly review and strengthen our procedures and training to support a safe learning environment. In addition, we collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency responders to enhance coordination and preparedness in the event of an emergency.
Emergency Response Procedures
Wilkinsburg School District uses the nationally recognized Standard Response Protocol (SRP) and ALICE Training to guide emergency preparedness and response.
