Celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month

Celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month

Hispanic Heritage Month has been celebrated in the United States since 1968. It begins on September 15, a date that marks the independence of several Latin American countries from Spain, with several others celebrating their independence around the same time.

We celebrate and honor the accomplishments of Hispanic and Latinx Americans and their contributions and influence on our country. From César Chávez, who fought for farm workers' rights, to Pittsburgh Pirates baseball legend Roberto Clemente, to Ellen Ochoa, who became the first Hispanic American woman to travel into space in 1993, there is so much to celebrate!
