Daily Student Meals
The Wilkinsburg School District understands the importance of proper nutrition and the role it plays in a child’s ability to perform in school. Free meals are provided to all students of the District under the direction of The Nutrition Group’s National School Breakfast Program (NSBP) and National School Lunch Program (NSLP).
The Nutrition Group transforms school breakfast and lunch into nutritious, lively and fun programs that students and faculty eagerly participate in. Our school meals are healthy, diverse and appealing, with the main focus always being on the student. The primary goal is to create a setting that helps them make the right choices and perform at their best. Eating healthy and making the right decisions about what to eat plays a big part in this effort.
REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
The Wilkinsburg School District is requesting proposals for school food service management services. The Food Service management Company will provide management services according to USDA regulations and guidelines, as well as the Pennsylvania Department of Education policies and guidelines. Food Service Management Companies and/or their representatives may submit proposals to Wilkinsburg School District, in c/o Mr. Richard Liberto, Director of Finance and Operations, 718 Wallace Avenue, Wilkinsburg, PA 15221.
The Wilkinsburg School District Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any and/or all proposals or to accept the proposal that it finds, in its sole discretion, to be in the best interest of the school district.
A Walk through meeting is scheduled for March 6, 2018 at 10:00 am at the district Administration Building. Bids are due March 20, 2018 by 3:00 pm at the district Administration Building, 718 Wallace Avenue, Wilkinsburg, PA 15221.

The current Dietary Guidelines, encourage most Americans to eat fewer calories, be more physically active, and make wiser food choices.
