About Our District
The Wilkinsburg School District is a vibrant urban public school district serving the Borough of Wilkinsburg. The district, covering approximately three square miles, is committed to providing a strong educational foundation that prepares every student for future success.
The district serves students from Pre-K through Grade 6 across two schools:
- Kelly Primary School: Pre-K through Grade 2
- Turner Intermediate School: Grades 3 through 6
In addition to its two schools, the district offers a Virtual Academy for students in Kindergarten through Grade 6, the district offers a Virtual Academy for students in Kindergarten through Grade 6 through a partnership with Waterfront Learning. The Virtual Academy provides families with a flexible online learning option while also allowing students to participate in in-person encore classes.
Through a partnership with Pittsburgh Public Schools, students in Grades 7 through 12 attend Pittsburgh Westinghouse Academy 6-12. This partnership provides students with access to expanded academic programs such as career and technical education, athletics, performing arts, Advanced Placement (AP) courses, and a wide range of extracurricular opportunities.
