Expanding Partnerships

Wilkinsburg School District values strong community partnerships that support student success, safety, and well-being. Through collaboration with local organizations, the district expands learning opportunities, provides additional resources for students and families, and strengthens connections between schools and the community.

We welcome new partnerships that support student learning, enrichment, and well-being. Organizations interested in partnering are encouraged to contact the Superintendent’s Office to share information about their programs and potential areas of collaboration. Partnership opportunities are reviewed based on alignment with district goals, student needs, and available programming.

Cure Violence East

As of December 2025, Turner Intermediate has partnered with Cure Violence East, an organization experienced in mediation and conflict resolution. Cure Violence East supports schools by helping to address conflicts proactively, teaching restorative communication strategies, and promoting a safe and positive school environment as part of the district’s ongoing commitment to safety and security.

Metro Community Health Center

Metro Community Health Center (MCHC), a nonprofit organization serving individuals of all ages and backgrounds, partners with Wilkinsburg School District to integrate healthcare services into schools.

This partnership supports the connection between health and academic success by providing access to medical and preventive care within the school setting. By making services more accessible, the district and MCHC aim to support student well-being, reduce barriers to care, and help improve student attendance and academic outcomes.

Through this collaboration, students, families, and staff have access to a range of services, including state-mandated screenings, comprehensive medical care, and mental health support.
