K–5 Little Warriors After-School Program

The Wilkinsburg School District, in partnership with the Neighborhood Learning Alliance, proudly offers the K-5 Little Warriors After-School Program, a 36-week program designed to empower students to embrace their strength, build a sense of community, and explore engaging learning activities that support their health and well-being. The program runs from September through June and ends each day at 6:30 p.m.

Students will participate in active play, project-based learning, enriched academic experiences, and exciting field trips. The program offers academic enrichment, STEAM projects, active play, and snack/dinner each day.

The program focuses on six pillars:

  • Whole Child: Ensuring students are seen, heard, supported, and safe.
  • Skill Development: Strengthening reading, math, and STEAM skills.
  • City as a Campus: Providing non-traditional, community-based experiences.
  • Engagement: Encouraging students as innovators and creators.
  • Participation: Offering equitable access to all resources and activities.
  • Training: Preparing staff to foster a diverse and inclusive culture.

The program is open only to students in kindergarten through 5th grade at Kelly Primary and Turner Intermediate.

  • Turner Intermediate: Begins Monday, September 8
  • Kelly Primary: Begins Monday, September 22
