Wilkinsburg School District is proud to offer the second-largest Pre-K Counts program in Allegheny County. This sought-after, high-quality program uses a research-based curriculum to prepare students for a lifetime of learning success.

The Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts program, created by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, aims to expand access to high-quality pre-kindergarten for families across the Commonwealth. The program operates in 57 of Pennsylvania's 67 counties and often partners with other early childhood organizations to provide services.

Live in a household with income below 300% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines
Are considered at risk of school failure, such as children with limited English proficiency or special needs

How much does PA Pre-K Counts cost?

PA Pre-K Counts is free to families for the portion of the day funded by the state. Some programs may charge for additional services such as extended-day or wrap-around care.
