in 2016 Wilkinsburg students in grades seven through 12 begin attending Pittsburgh what the health Academy For Middle School and High School through a partnership with the Pittsburgh Public School District Westinghouse Academy serving Wilkinsburg Homewood Point Breeze East Liberty and Highland Park is fully committed to the advancement of the students academically working with Partners in community organization to provide relevant and copper opportunities for student Wilkinsburg is proud to partner with our neighbors to ensure that our students continue to receive an excellent education to Wilkinsburg School District in Pittsburgh Westinghouse Academy have many a lot in common sense it around academic success in preparing students for life and career center decrement beyond their Pre K through 12 education to prepare the Wilkinsburg students for the transition to Pittsburgh Public Schools Turner intermediate I've departmentalize the sixth grade four students move from classroom to classroom for different subjects and robust curriculum includes classes in English math science social study Spanish Jim Library art music and band we're taking small steps to make a big impact on supporting your students before transitioning to another school or 6th graders change classrooms a few times a day to teacher who specializes in that subject area it has become apparent that our students are more and enjoyment of learning is highly emphasized all students from Wilkinsburg happy opportunity to utilize the state-of-the-art facilities including science labs computer lab Lab a music lab the library has been can be updated to support students in all areas of learning the school offers a variety of additional Educational Services as well including learning support speech and language hearing and vision life skills report emotions occupational therapy and physical therapy while attending Westinghouse our students have the opportunity to utilize a wide array of program including a number of advanced placement courses in biology English and writing Pittsburgh nothing Health Academy currently collaborate with over 45 colleges universities and Community organizations agencies churches in hospital and through these partnership provides mentoring Community Services Workforce Development opportunities during college preparatory classes as well as certifications and licenses magnet schools allow students to pursue special interest talents for career gold these schools are not neighborhood specific students who reside anywhere in Wilkinsburg can apply to attend starting in 7th grade in addition to our traditional curriculum students can also participate and explore the Career and Technical education classrooms and program these programs are fully accredited with the state of Pennsylvania Disney's programs with the industry recognized training professional development internship community service field placement and job placement opportunities at the moment any student regardless of where they are from steps into Pittsburgh Westinghouse we become Bulldog they can take full advantage of all we have to offer here at the house to prepare students for the transition to the house we hold a parent transition evening that includes information from our various co-partners our student services team guided tour we also host meetings between school Personnel to support fall needs of our incoming student every student received the high quality and rigorous educational experience they deserve our motto at Pittsburgh Mount Academy is together we can together we will get together we might
